Why Introverts Are The Best Kind Of Creative People

If creativity is the process of using your imagination to find new ideas and turn them into reality, it is fair to say that everybody is creative. The simple act of deciding what to cook for dinner and making it happen is a creative process. However, it doesn’t mean everybody shares the same creative ability. Some people have a knack for finding hidden patterns and new ways of perceiving their surroundings. They are the one who can see connections between unrelated elements and who can come up to life-changing solutions. They are the imaginative force that makes creativity move forward. Creativity is a crucial factor of growth and progress in the business world, in the arts, and everyday situations. The most prominent creative minds share one characteristic with each other; they are introverts.

Creativity comes easily to introverts

They spend a lot of time in their heads

Typically, introverts feel drained when they are forced in social situations. Parties, meetings, and other social gatherings act as energy suckers. The introverts recharge their batteries through alone time, which is often misinterpreted as shyness. In reality, introverts prefer to focus on their inner life and thoughts. As a result, they are used to enjoying solitude as it gives them the opportunity to think and explore ideas.

They enjoy activities that bring them close to nature

Spending time in nature offers a soothing and exhilarating experience. Indeed, we all know that a stroll down the woods can be the best way to find inspiration for a new project. Indeed, nature offers a shift from everyday routine, which encourages your brain to make new connections. Additionally, the proximity to plants boosts your levels of oxygen; and a well-oxygenated brain is a brain that is ready to think its way through new challenges. But, for the introverts, solitary outdoors activities give them the time to process their inner world and find deeper meanings. Whether they’re fishing using the latest equipment from Fishing Sun or hiking through the hills with a camera for sole company, the close bond between introverts and nature enhances their creativity.

They can stay focused for a long time

The brain releases dopamine, a chemical that plays a significant role in creating a reward-focused motivation behavior. Dopamine encourages people to achieve their goals and seek a reward, such as recognition or money. The introvert brain, however, produces low levels of dopamine, which means introverts seek less reward stimulation. Therefore, they can concentrate for longer periods of time on their imagination without feeling bored, while extroverts rush through ideas to find the next dopamine-induced pleasure.

They find inspiration in their surroundings

Last but not least, the introvert brain is constantly looking for patterns. As a result, in a room, an introvert will take in the colors, shapes, sounds, and smells of the surroundings, while the extrovert focuses on their interlocutor. While, at first, the introvert can appear absent-minded, the truth is that they absorb a lot of information from their surroundings – which is why social gatherings can be exhausting.

In a world where ideas rule, introverts are the quiet rulers who innovate, create, and continuously question our routines and surroundings. Being an introvert is a creative environment is not a curse, but a blessing.
